Last week, a few astronauts , bobby soxers and robots got together to kick up their space boots and plaid skirts- to bring you some inspiration for the upcoming March 9th Big Bang at the Berkshire Energy Vortex.
We will be receiving a final transmission of image inspiration soon, but till then tune into these spacey candids from last week’s shoot.
It can get gusty when you are experiencing The Big Bang in an Energy Vortex, so we recommend swingy skirts and shiny helmets to best collect the creative energy of this year’s Is183 shindig! Here’s a smattering of what the gals and guys will be sporting. Stay tuned for inspiration coming across the gamma rays soon.
IS183 is a non-profit community art school encouraging people of all ages, means and skill levels to enrich their lives through hands-on experience in the visual arts.
In the summer of 1991, IS183 Art School opened its doors in what continues to be its historic landmark homebase, Citizens Hall, in Stockbridge.
From absolute beginners to seasoned professionals, the programs offered by IS183 offer a wide range of art-making opportunities, regardless of means. Last year almost $15,000 in need-based scholarships were awarded. Further, IS183 employed over seventy five faculty artists and served over 2,500 students of all ages—children, teens and adults, from the Berkshires and beyond—in year-round classes, workshops and intensives with local, regional, national and international faculty in Ceramics, Fiber Arts, Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Photography, Jewelry and Mixed Media.
